If you want the clearest water and the best snorkeling in Kuwait, you have to head south. SeaQuest Trips runs private charters from Al Khiran to the southern islands of the Arabian Gulf, where the reefs sit close to shore and the lagoons stay calm on a good day. Whether you are new to a mask and snorkel or you free dive on a single breath, this is where the water rewards you.

Where the clear water is
Three islands anchor our trips, and each has its own feel underwater.
- Alhala sits about 15 minutes out, with a quiet reef close to shore and shallow, clear water. It is the gentlest place to put your face in and float, which makes it a favorite for families and first timers.
- Um Almaradim is farther south, roughly 30 minutes away, with a clear lagoon and coral heads. The lagoon is a fine spot to drift with a snorkel and watch the bottom.
- Qarouh is our coral island, about 45 minutes out, known for snorkeling and diving and for turtles in season. Qarouh is not bookable right now, but ask us and we will tell you when it opens on request.
What you might see while snorkeling in Kuwait
The southern Gulf is warm and shallow, so on a clear day you can watch reef fish move over the coral heads, spot the occasional ray gliding across the sand, and, at Qarouh in season, share the water with turtles. We never promise a specific sighting. The sea decides. What we can promise is honest advice on where the water looks best the day you sail.
The gear is already on the boat
Everything is included, so you do not need to buy or pack snorkeling equipment. Our 38 ft center console carries masks, snorkels, and fins for the group, plus floats and pool noodles for anyone who just wants to relax on the surface. For breath hold divers we carry a freedive buoy, so you always have a fixed point to rest on and a visible marker for the captain. There is a free paddle board too, which doubles as a stable platform to swim out from. You can see more of the deck and shade setup on our boat page, and get a feel for the water in the gallery.
Bring these to make it easy
- A long-sleeved shirt for sun cover between swims.
- Sunscreen and a hat.
- A towel and your swimwear.
- Seasickness medication if you are unsure about the ride out.
Simple safety in the water
Snorkeling and freediving are calm sports when you respect a few basics.
- Use the buddy system. Stay near a partner, especially if you are diving down on a breath.
- Tell the captain before departure if anyone cannot swim. We would rather know early so we can set you up with a float and keep you close.
- Freedive on the buoy. Rest on it between dives and never push a breath hold past comfort.
- Watch children in the water. Anyone under 18 sails with a guardian.
The best months for visibility
Water clarity is a seasonal thing in the Gulf. The warmer, calmer stretch of the year gives you the flat surface and clear light that make snorkeling in Kuwait worth the trip south. Summer, from July to September, is hot and fishing is poor, so those months are all about the water: swimming, snorkeling, freediving, and floating in the shade. We would rather be honest than sell you a bad day, so if wind or murky water is forecast we will tell you. Check our notes on Kuwait weather before you pick a date.
It is never too late for a genuine adventure. When you are ready, choose your island and date on the Rates and Booking page and pay online over KNET. Questions? We reply on the water.
