Not all Kuwait island trips are the same, and picking the right one is the difference between a lazy family swim day and a hard day chasing fish. We run to three islands south of Al Khiran, and each one suits a different kind of day. Here’s an honest breakdown so you can choose the island that matches your group, then book it.
Alhala Island: the easy, close pick
Alhala is our nearest island, about 15 minutes by boat from the marina. It’s a quiet reef close to shore with shallow, clear water, which makes it the calm, low-stress choice.
Who it suits
Families with kids, first-timers, and anyone who wants to spend the day in the water without a long run offshore. The shallow water is easy to stand in and easy to snorkel, and the short trip means more time swimming and less time traveling. At KWD 150 per boat, it’s also the most affordable of the three.
Um Almaradim Island: the fishing run
Um Almaradim sits about 30 minutes south, farther out into the Gulf. You get a clear lagoon and coral heads once you arrive, but the real draw is what happens on the way there and back.
Who it suits
Anglers. The run out and back crosses productive water, so this is the trip for groups who want serious fishing along with a swim stop. If your crew is split between people who want to fish and people who want to float in a lagoon, Um Almaradim gives you both. It’s KWD 160 per boat.

Qarouh Island: the diving jewel
Qarouh is the diving jewel of the south, about 45 minutes out. It’s known for coral, turtles in season, spearfishing, and some of the best snorkeling in Kuwaiti waters.
Who it suits
Divers, freedivers, and spearfishers who want the richest underwater scenery we run to. One honest note: Qarouh is currently not bookable through the site. We mention it as a seasonal or on-request trip, so if it’s on your list, reach out through our contact page and we’ll tell you what’s possible.
